The Ultimate aurora borealis painting. Shetland artist Sarah Kay has used shells, rocks, sea glass, acrylic paint and a piece of plywood to create this artwork. The northern lights or Mirrie dancers! are beautiful. OOAK

Inspired by the black Shetland nights all winter! I have created this piece of artwork, not usually a fan of black in my work, I have enjoyed making this piece as it is different.

I am a keen beach comber and have used a Cowrie shell as well as sea glass, the blue is rare to find here.  I have also used some beach pebbles and painted them to give texture to the picture.

This picture is framed in a white box frame, measuring 50 x 50 x 4.5 cms. It is ready to hang up.
