Since opening my studio doors on the 1st May, I've been working around the clock; between creating new artwork, fulfilling commissions and studio visits - it's not stopped.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to take some much needed time off so my son and I headed to Aberdeen for a few days to re-energise, ready for another busy period on the lead up to Christmas.
I captured this picture of this vibrant sunrise sky as we flew from Shetland to Aberdeen - little did we know it was the calm before the storm.
As many of you know, stormy weather and rough seas inspires much of my artwork, and the wet and wild stormy weekend that followed our peerie trip away forced me back indoors. It has given me a peerie bit more time to finish some pieces, just in time for the Shetland Craft Fair which will be held in Clickimin on 3rd, 4th and 5th November.
I can hardly believe it’s the Shetland Craft Fair time again, meaning that it’s been a year since many of us last met - I’m really looking forward to seeing you again - this year you’ll find me on stand 2 in the main hall at Clickimin.
For those of you who are following from slightly further afield, I've been busy updating the collections on my website, where you can find a range of Shetland inspired artwork, jewellery and gifts. As all of my artwork is made by hand here in Shetland, ordering early for Christmas is advisable.
If you're looking to treat someone to a peerie piece of Shetland, my Shetland Inspired Artwork collection is a great place to start. This collection features a range of prints, original pieces, gifts and cards, each capturing a place or element I love about Shetland.
Jewellery is another popular gift for Christmas, and my range of earrings, pendants, brooches and sets are perfect for those that love to be close to the sea, or enjoy gazing into the night sky.
I can post everything featured on my website to the UK, EU and internationally. If you just can’t pick a piece, I also offer gift vouchers in electronic format or paper which can be used in my studio.
If you would like any assistance of picking a Christmas gift, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
I’m looking forward to seeing some of you this weekend at the Craft Fair.
